About Multi-Research-Hub
It all began around 2021, after Carlos returned from his doctoral studies. He was actively researching volcanic gas monitoring in El Salvador. Otoniel was working with IoT stations to monitor air quality in different cities in El Salvador. And I was working with industrial sensor data to train machine learning models as part of my doctoral studies in Germany. Then we met for the first time and thought about how we could combine Otoniel's IoT know-how, Carlos' experience with volcanic activity monitoring, and my expertise in data science and machine learning.
And so started the MR-HUB!
Since then, we have been researching different environmental topics, trying new IoT architectures, IoT stations, new sensors, data analysis, data platforms, predictive models, ...

Fernando Arévalo
I am a researcher, data scientist, and electrical engineer with professional experience in various industries. I am interested in new technologies and methods, especially machine learning, knowledge transfer, cloud computing, and augmented reality for industrial and environmental applications.
Omar Otoniel Flores
He received his Engineer degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad de El Salvador, San Salvador, El Salvador, in 2005. Since 2005 he works as a lecture and researcher for the electronics department in the Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador, San Salvador, El Salvador. His research interests include embedded systems, IoT systems.
Carlos Pocasangre
I am a researcher and professor in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Buildings, with a strong background in electrical engineering and geophysics. He currently heads the Telecommunications Department at the School of Electrical Engineering at the University of El Salvador. He holds a PhD in Geophysical Engineering from Kyushu University, Japan, and a Master's degree in Renewable Energy from the University of León, Nicaragua. His extensive experience includes research in geothermal resources, energy efficiency in buildings, and the use of remote sensing for environmental monitoring. As a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of the Geosciences and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS), he has led several innovative projects, such as SICUES for mapping geothermal potential in El Salvador and power quality studies. His work focuses on the intersection of engineering, geophysics, and sustainability, contributing to the application of advanced technologies to solve energy and environmental challenges in the region.
